Let me introduce you: Franconia!

Hi everyone!

The term of Franconia (Franken) is today commonly used to refer to the eastern part of the old Duchy of Franconia in Germany. The region is nowadays mainly represented by the administrative districts of Lower Franconia (Unterfranken, capital city Würzburg), Middle Franconia (Mittelfranken, capital city Ansbach), and Upper Franconia (Oberfranken, capital city Bayreuth) in Bavaria. Due to the respective local East Franconian German dialects, the adjacent northeastern region of Baden-Württemberg called Tauberfranken and parts of southern Thuringia are also considered as Franconian regions.
The two largest cities of Franconia are Nuremberg and Würzburg. The metropolitan area of Nuremberg is often qualified as the economic and cultural center of Franconia, and that’s where I live since the 12th of September 2010.

Why my title?
Because Franconians are deeply anchored in their regional traditions. Do not mix them with Bavarians, even if Franconia belongs to Bavaria.
An example is that on old buildings in all Bavaria window shutters are in “Weiß und Blau” (white and blue), but here in Nuremberg, Franconia, they are in “Weiß und Rot” (white and red).
Here are the Flags:

Here are some nice pics I made at the end of fall in Franconia.

Red Ballerinas Review #2

Hello!!

I am back again today that's a woder: I needed like alomst 6 months fom a post to another, and now I am posting every day !!! I got crazy!!!

Well I made a new review of the rede ballerinas that like recently online.

First Red Ballerinas: From Pretty Ballerinas

Of course they are very classical, what can be nicer than a classic little cute bow on ballerinas: And it fits with all styles of outfit from business clothes to casual jeans !!! And they are available here.

Second Red Ballerinas: From Emma Go

Again a pair of ballerinas, which I will qualified as classic, but this time they are made of suede, with a cute heart shaped above. You can find them here.

Third Red Ballerinas: From Bronx

I love the fact that those are bicolored but stay all red ! But in my opinion I see these ballerinas more with a casual outfit. They are sold here.

Fourth Red Ballerinas: From Miss Selfridge

With so many studded shoes sold nowadays, that was sur there will be one pair in the review: and they are pointed :-) Online shopping is right here.

Fifth Red Ballerinas: From Georgia Rose

I just like them, lack leather, pointed, a bit like school shoes... Last chance to buy here.

That's it for today, I am waiting for your opinion.

1 Song 3 Versions #5 -- Bad Romance

Hello every one!

1 Song 3 Versions is back !!!

I have some difficulties to maintain this category, as it is not very easy to find a good song which had more than twices interpreted. My opinion is that when a song is a genuine work and even a masterpiece, a singer has to find courage, or has to be very confident about his talent to try to sing it another way.
Well that is my opinion, and tastes on music can be relative.

But I found 3 great versions of the following song. The piece I chose today is „Bad Romance“.
I think (I may be wrong) the most famous interpretation is from its compositor itself, Ms Lady Gaga. I like the melody, I like the lyrics. I just share, as the undertitle of the blog says, what I like.
The second version is a recent discovery, not of the band, but the fact that they interpreted „Bad Romance“ on live for a UK TV show: 30 Seconds To Mars. I am a huge fan of the band of the actor Jared Leto, (if you do not know him it's time to click here), his brother Shannon, and their friend Tomo. I unfortunately never had the chance to be at one of their concert of their huge last tour (Guiness Record for almost 2 years on tour), and it is not like I did not try...
The last version is actually just a cover. I chose this cover of "Bad Romance", because as I said before, it is hard to find many version of one song, and I also wanted to share this show that I like: GLEE - and in general I deeply like muscals !!

Well I let you enjoy the three differents versions!!!

Flashy is narrating... Flashy raconte... #2

Hi everyboy!

Long time, no post :-)

Well it's been a while since I really wrote on the blog, and also even since I posted an article.
I decided that I will keep on writing about my choice in life related to german and Germany.

Last time I was explaining I chose as first language to learn at school... So I started to learn german, and the first two years I had a very nice, interesting, particular teacher: Herr Reuter (Mister Reuter). To explain a bit more how special he was, is important. His specialty was to throw or even eat pieces of shalk. Ok that's not nice to just mention those points, he had other particularities, he brought us (the whole class) a lot of lost traditions (I mean by lost, some we did not know). The tradition I remember the most of what he brought us, was and is the Advent, with the crown of pine trees and candles. This nice teacher was offering at every classes a „mandarine“ to each and everyone students of the class during the December before Christmas.
He was a very nice teacher, but unfortunately, not one of the best german teacher. I could not say that I had made so much improvement in german.

The 3rd and 4th year I learned german, I had a very great teacher. Thanks to Frau Pillion (Ms. Pillion) my german got really better, I was able to speak... just a bit … The most important event of those two years, is my first visit of Germany. It was a student exchange program of my city in France with the Partner city in Germany: Salzgitter, around Hannover and Braunschweig. Except the fact that the girl I was exchanging with, did not like and we could not ge along, I really had a great time there, her family was cool, sweet and cheerful. They were always kind to me, taking care of me. This event had I think a great impact on my future life.

Then I haven't so much to say about my relationship with Germany. The years passed without any amazing points, which need to be noticed.
During high school, I was more into english, that's why I went twice to UK, once in the area of Brighton, and the second time in the beautiful region of Cornwall in Falmouth to be precised.
That is how I got to improve my english speaking, in nice families. And I went once in Ireland in Galway, where the family was a bit weird but nice. But what amazed me the most in Ireland are the landscapes, and how Irish people are cheerful.

Now back to german and Germany...

... To be continued...

Red Ballerinas Review

Hi Everybody !!! Some people say that in fashion there are pieces, which should be mandatory to have in his closet. I'd say everyone has its own tastes, and of course trends are influencing a lot our particular own tastes. I want to share wit the passion I have for the esthetic of RED BALLERINAS, by making a short review of the ones I prefer nowadays. First Pair of Red Ballerinas: Chloé
Let's start with classical pair... Why that? Because, this one is the closest one, to the origins of the ballerina dance ballet shoes. As you may know, that was the firts use of the ballerinas. Second pair of Red Ballerinas: REPETTO
Repetto, is one of the oldest manufacturer for that ballet dance shoes (as I danced Ballet when I was young, I had those „nude“ ones). I really like this pair because of the re-inveention of the „BB“ normal-classical red Repetto's ballerinas, mix of patent and wild leather! Third pair of Red Ballerinas: ASOS
What can I say? Great look! Trendy & classical! Repetto inspired! Very Cheap! Cute ! Fourth Red Ballerinas: KURT GEIGER
I had a crush on those ones (but did not buy), they look like they are the most comfortable shoes/Ballerinas EVER! Perfectly ergonomic 2 cm heels !! Looks like great leather … Fifth Red Ballernas: ROGER VIVER
I think that those are, with Repetto's, the most timeless in two ways: All generations of women can wear them, They'll keep on being great throughout decades. NOW, you can tell me which ones you prefer, and share you ballerinas passion with me :-) Have fun with comment and see you soon !
